Etsy Listing Photo Size
Image Squisher gets Etsy listing photos under Etsy’s file-size cap locally. Etsy caps listing images around 1 MB and re-compresses whatever you upload, so the trick is to arrive already small and sharp: a 1 MB size target gives every photo the best quality that fits.

How to fit Etsy listing photos
Three steps.
Drop your listing photos in
All the angles, the lifestyle shots, the whole set.
Set the 1 MB target
Pick the 1 MB preset. Each photo gets its own quality search to land just under the cap.
Hit Squish and upload
Listing images that upload first try, load fast for shoppers, and don’t get double-compressed into mush.
Why small uploads look better on Etsy
Etsy re-compresses every listing image after you upload it. Upload a heavy 8 MB original and Etsy’s encoder decides the trade-offs; arrive already under the cap with a well-made file and you decide them. Second-hand compression is how listings get soft.
Fast-loading listings also sell better, and the first photo is your shop window on mobile. A set of clean sub-1MB files is simply better business than hoping the platform is kind.
Good to know
- 1 MB preset built in; any custom number works.
- Whole product shoots batch in one pass.
- Runs offline on your computer.
Questions, answered
What resolution should Etsy photos be?
Etsy recommends 2000px on the long edge for zoom. The app can resize to exact dimensions first if your camera files are bigger than useful; the resize and size-target features work together.
Which platforms does it run on?
Windows, macOS and Linux. Same app, same engine, free tier on all three.
Is it really free?
Yes. It costs nothing, needs no account, and whole batches run one after another. Every input format and the full quality engine are included. If you point it at a really big collection you’ll eventually meet the free limit; Pro ($9 once) removes it and adds a watch folder, or you can simply come back tomorrow.
