Big photos in. Small photos out. Automagically.
Image Squisher makes your photo files dramatically smaller automatically, while keeping the quality you want. No complicated settings. No technical knowledge. No uploads.
Free to use · No account · Works offline · Photos never leave your computer
Just one simple slider.
See the difference. (You won't.)
A real photo, squished. Click either photo to zoom in close.
Real files, real sizes, straight out of the app.
A real 4672 × 7008 photo, squished at every quality setting. Click either photo to zoom all the way in and try to spot the difference. You probably can’t and that’s the point!
Smaller in three steps. None of them technical.
You never touch a format, a quality number, or a pixel count. That’s our job.
Drop your photos in
One photo or a whole folder — phone shots, iPhone HEICs, scans, old archives, even camera RAW. Everything goes in.
Pick a word on the slider
One simple slider, from Smallest to Original. The recommended setting already looks like the original — pick it and move on with your day.
Get your space back
Each photo is studied, repacked, and checked against the original before it’s saved. You get the smaller file — and a report of exactly what it saved.
That’s it. That’s the whole workflow.
How is that possible?
Modern formats, handled for you.
Under the hood, your photos are re-saved with modern, efficient compression that fits the same picture into a fraction of the space. But here’s the part we’re proud of: before anything is saved, Image Squisher analyzes each photo and picks the settings for that specific image — then checks its own work against your original. No guesswork, no surprises, nothing for you to configure.
Looks-great mode
Pick a quality word from the slider. The engine tunes every technical detail for that photo — one by one, photo by photo.
Make-it-fit mode
Email says 10 MB? Upload cap 5 MB? Just type the size. Image Squisher does the math and delivers under it — with the best quality that fits.
Your photos multiply. Your storage doesn't.
Years of camera rolls, chat-app dumps, scans and exports pile up quietly — until the disk is full, the cloud tier needs upgrading, and that one photo still won’t attach.
Your drive keeps filling up
Keep every photo and still take the space back — no deleting, no compromises.
Cloud bills keep growing
Smaller photos mean more room in the storage you already pay for.
Some photos just won't send
Email and chat apps have size limits. Squished photos sail under them.
Private by design.
Image Squisher works entirely on your computer. Photos are never uploaded, there's no account, and it runs fine offline. As a bonus, personal data — GPS locations, camera info — is stripped from every squished photo by default (one switch keeps it, for when you genuinely need it).
If it's a photo, it goes in.
JPG, iPhone HEIC, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, animated GIF, camera RAW (Canon, Sony…), BMP, ICO — one at a time or a whole folder at once. Everything comes out a small, standard photo that opens everywhere.

Made by a person, not a boardroom.
Hi, I’m Karl. First I built Video Squisher, because my drives kept filling up with videos and every tool wanted me to understand a wall of technical settings first. Then I looked at my photo library — years of memories at dozens of megabytes each — and built the sister app: the same one-slider idea, for photos.
Image Squisher is new, independent software. If anything confuses you, I want to hear about it — you’ll get me, not a chatbot.

Questions, answered simply.
Each photo is re-saved with modern, efficient compression that fits the same picture into much less space. Image Squisher analyzes the photo and picks the settings for it — automatically, photo by photo.
You choose how they should look with one simple slider. At the recommended setting, photos look pretty much just like before, checked against the original before delivering. Scroll up to the proof section and try to tell the difference yourself.
No. The default output is a standard JPG — it opens in every program ever made. If you want files smaller still, one toggle switches to JPEG XL. It’s the successor to JPG, but still not fully adopted by all programs.
The NEW version of JPEG: same picture, much smaller files. Most browsers and modern photo apps already open it, but some older programs don’t yet — which is why standard JPG stays the default and JPEG XL is always your deliberate choice.
Completely. Photos never leave your computer — no uploads, no accounts, no cloud. On top of that, personal data like GPS location and camera info is stripped from every squished photo by default.
Pretty much anything: JPG, HEIC (iPhone), PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, ICO, animated GIFs (they stay animated), and camera RAW files from Canon, Sony and friends.
A lot: 10 photos every day, whole batches one after another, and the identical quality engine — no watermarks, no tricks. Pro version removes the daily limit and adds a watch folder plus custom output names.
