Shrink Photos for Email Attachments
Image Squisher shrinks photos under email attachment limits locally. Gmail allows about 25 MB per message, Outlook 20 MB, and everything in a mail counts together. Type the limit as a size target and your attachments fit.

How to shrink photos for email
Three steps.
Drop the photos in
Everything you want to attach to this mail.
Set the size target
Pick the 25 MB preset for Gmail (20 MB for Outlook), or type a smaller number if the photos share the message with a document.
Hit Squish
Attach the smaller files. They arrive as normal photos, not as zip archives or cloud links.
The 25 MB that isn't
Gmail’s 25 MB per message sounds roomy until you remember three things: it’s the whole message including all attachments, Outlook’s limit is 20 MB on the receiving end, and mail servers pack attachments in a way that inflates them by a third. Three 8 MB photos can genuinely fail to send.
Squishing them first is the fix that keeps you in control: the photos arrive as photos, at a quality you chose, with no cloud link for the recipient to wrestle with and no account needed for you.
Good to know
- Presets for 20 MB and 25 MB built in; any custom number works.
- Works for any provider’s limit, not just the big two.
- Runs offline; your photos aren’t uploaded by a compressor before being uploaded by you.
Questions, answered
Why not let Gmail resize the photos for me?
Because it crushes them to a fraction of the size whether you wanted that or not. Doing it yourself means the result keeps the resolution and quality you actually chose.
Is it really free?
Yes. It costs nothing, needs no account, and whole batches run one after another. Every input format and the full quality engine are included. If you point it at a really big collection you’ll eventually meet the free limit; Pro ($9 once) removes it and adds a watch folder, or you can simply come back tomorrow.
Does it upload my photos anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your computer. There is no account, no cloud, no watermark, and it works fine offline.
Send photos, not error messages.
